In 2016, the Victorian Bar Association endorsed the Law Council of Australia`s National Model Gender Equitable Information Policy to achieve a nationally consistent approach to bringing about cultural and behavioural change within the legal profession towards gender reporting practices. The Victoria Bar Association has also adopted the Law Council`s Diversity and Equality Charter. The Victoria Commercial Bar Association, members of the judiciary and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission have also launched the CommBar Fair Information Initiative to improve information for women at all levels and to work with law firms that engage the commercial bar to commit to real change.
