The state government had previously approved the comprehensive integrated development control and promotion rules (DC Unified Rules) for the construction sector throughout the state, with the exception of the Mumbai and Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PMRDA). However, the order was issued on Friday and the rules are being implemented from today. The rules used to apply to the limits of PIPEDA. However, the PMRDL was excluded in the final rules. Although it is applicable to Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, it will not be applicable in areas adjacent to the two cities. The rules had been pending approval by the state government for nearly two years. There have been requests from various organizations, including CREDAI, Marathi Construction Commercial Association, to accept it. It was eventually approved by the state government. These rules have been implemented across the state, with the exception of PMRDA, Mumbai City, MIDC, Naina, Port Trust, Hill Station Municipal Council and Eco Sensitive Zone.
