Quarantine Rules in Malaysia

Persons allowed to enter Malaysia must undergo mandatory quarantine at a facility designated by the Malaysian government (7 days for fully vaccinated travellers or 10 days for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers) and must bear the cost of this quarantine themselves. Passengers arriving from Singapore under the Vaccinated Travel Lanes program must: – have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test no later than 2 days before departure; and – have a COVID-19 vaccination record indicating that they have been fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covishield, Covaxin, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm or Sinovac at least 14 days prior to arrival; and – have been in Singapore or Malaysia in the last 14 days; and – have a copy of the travel insurance with a minimum coverage of MYR 100,000. – The COVID-19 RT-PCR test does not apply to passengers under 2 years of age; – The COVID-19 vaccination record does not apply to passengers under 12 years of age. 6. Passengers travelling to Langkawi (LGK) as part of the Langkawi travel bubble must: – a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken no later than 2 days before departure; and – a package tour from a travel agency licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC); and – insurance to cover COVID-19 related costs with a minimum coverage of USD 80,000; and – a COVID-19 vaccination record indicating that they have been fully vaccinated at least 28 days prior to arrival with: – CanSinoBIO (Convidecia) or Janssen; or – AstraZeneca, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac or Sputnik V at least 14 days prior to arrival. 7. Passengers with an entry permit obtained from myentry.myxpats.com.my/app/ must have: – a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken no later than 2 days before departure; and – a COVID-19 vaccination record indicating that they have been fully vaccinated at least 28 days prior to arrival with: – CanSinoBIO (Convidecia) or Janssen; or – AstraZeneca, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac or Sputnik V at least 14 days prior to arrival.

8. Passengers who have travelled to Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe within the last 14 days must have a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test at least 48 hours prior to departure. 9. Passengers will undergo a RT-PCR COVID-19 test upon arrival at their own expense. 10. The passenger will be medically examined and quarantined at the first point of entry at his/her own expense for 7, 10 or 14 days. – This does not apply to: – Passengers with a letter of approval for home quarantine applied on ecovid19.moh.gov.my/outbreak-portal-hqa/index.
