Our investigators either have a degree in criminal justice, previous prosecutions or military experience. All investigators have undergone background checks and are authorized in our coverage areas. He also worked for a Big 4 consulting firm that leads end-to-end eDiscovery and investigations, including forensic analysis and the development of a large-scale parallel processing system. Michael Russell has over 14 years of end-to-end expertise in eDiscovery projects with nearly two decades of experience in the technology industry. During this time, he has worked on some of Australia`s largest and most complex issues, both as an external consultant and as an in-house expert at a world-class law firm. His expertise includes working with national and international regulators, state and federal courts in Australia and has conducted internal investigations for large corporations. Mr. Russell has been a certified investigator since 1978. Mr. Russell graduated from Frostburg State University and received his master`s degree in forensic medicine from George Washington University in 1984.
He is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice and a certified polygraph examiner in the state of Virginia. Mr. Russell is the Compliance Officer and Qualified Legal Investigation Officer and has conducted investigations in numerous states across the country. He has testified as an expert in child recovery and domestic relations, and has worked on more than 12,000 cases involving criminal defense, insurance defense and domestic cases nationally and internationally. Lettmann is Secretary and Chief Investigator for Legal Investigations. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University College of Law Enforcement with a BS in Asset Protection; Investigations. Mr. Lettmann is also a graduate of Northern Virginia Security Academy and holds bachelor`s degrees in MD, DC and VA. He has testified on numerous insurance defence and internal relations issues and has supervised both nationally and internationally. Mr. Lettmann is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigations (NALI), the Private Investigators Association of Virginia (PIVA) and the Council of International Investigators (CII). Worked for various Babcock & Brown D&O insurers defending investor cases filed with the Supreme Court of New South Wales; Acted for Spotless in connection with the defense of a class action lawsuit brought by shareholders in federal court; Acted for Chandler Macleod and Ready Workforce to defend class actions before the Federal Court; Acted for Statewide`s auditors in Banksia litigation and class actions filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria; and In 2020, The Legal 500 recognized the practice`s expertise in dispute resolution: class actions. Alpert is Vice-President and Field Manager for Criminal Investigations. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1993 with a B.A. in criminology and criminal justice. Mr. Alpert is also a graduate of the Northern Virginia Security Academy and holds licenses in MD, DC and VA, as well as a compliance officer certification in Virginia. He has testified extensively on defence matters in insurance and internal relations and has worked on more than 10,000 cases.
